With an avid entrepreneurial spirit, the performing arts company “Movement 340: A Passion Through Every Step” is Elle’s current up-and-coming business. Building back communities through the creative and influential forces of performing arts. Movement 340 is just what the name entitles a “movement”. It is a progressive outlet that will allow an ascending growth and population of the performing arts community in the Virgin Islands. The heart of this organization beats to the sound of positivity displayed through mentorship and a significant love of self and your surrounding environment. One must keep a certain pride in which you hailed from.
With that being said, the movement starts with planting flowers of ancestral commemoration using the performing arts to preserve a melting pot of an enriched heritage, and then assists with weeding out the skyrocketing scenarios consistently occurring in the territories such as the various types of violence, drugs, political tension, healthcare deficiencies, job shortages, and the lack of funding within the branches of government.
The Virgin Islands produces a plethora of raw talent and Movement 340 pledges to be a safe house where that talent will be embraced and fully utilized to enhance that individual. Movement 340 pledges to be a trustworthy beacon where that talent will be able to shine not only locally but worldwide making the seed of a dream a beautiful living reality.
Elle has also been afforded the profound opportunity of traveling abroad to various parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and inter-regional Caribbean islands through the pursuits of dance and academia. Harriet Tubman said, “every great dream begins with a dreamer, always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”. Wholeheartedly, she has embraced that philosophy through her relentless passion, which is the dream of dance excellence.

AUTHOR
SCATTERED MEMORABELIA

Scattered Memorabilia was written to release the hidden stories I have hoarded for so many years. These spoken words are disheveled by time-period though are collectors of unforgettable and life changing memories. It is my aim to share such milestones with the reader so that they too can connect mentally, emotionally, and spiritually with the poems. What is the purpose of a gift if you keep it wrapped? Shielding the truth of the inside contents! This is my moment of unwrapping my gift of words with the world. I pray you all enjoy the vulnerability and boldness of Scattered Memorabilia and may it be an inspiration to unlocking the words that define your life's journey.
SHOUTOUT ATLANTA ARTICLE
Meet Elle Nielsen: Professional Dancer and Choreographer
Originally, I am a freelance dancer and choreographer. I have had the opportunity of traveling abroad to different continents to perform and teach dance. Being able to be culturally immersed through movement has been a blessing. The journey of following my dreams has not been easy, but has been extremely worth it. In August, my first poetry book was published and I am still ecstatic about my words being printed nationwide. Writing has always been a heartwarming hobby for me. Having another expressive outlet was important for me. Currently, I am a professor of dance at the University of the Virgin Islands, where I am a part of implementing the new Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance program. Being an ambassador for dance academia at the collegiate level in my hometown has been a manifestation that became a reality. Even while listing accolades I remain humble and modest because life in itself is a privilege and a gift. While soaking in accomplishments, I have learned to walk in my truth and own what defines my artistry.
